On 19 februari 2013 Apple has released iOS 6.1.2. This update fixes an issue where iOS 6.1 and iOS 6.1.1 devices would create excessive Exchange activity, also known as the YAII (Yet Another IOS Issue). This issue could create large amounts of log files on the Exchange servers when syncing meeting appointments.
When the issue first arose, I blocked all the iOS 6.1 and iOS 6.1.1 devices with an ActiveSync device access rule on Exchange 2010 SP2. This meant no user with that OS could use ActiveSync to synchronize e-mail, calendar and/or contacts.
I updated my device to iOS 6.1.2 and still cannot sync to Exchange?
When your device is updated to iOS 6.1.2 it’s possible you still cannot connect to your Exchange environment. The error you’ll most likely receive is “Cannot get mail. The connection to the server failed.”
To make sure you can synchronize your device do as follows:
Update your iOS device to version 6.1.2- Log on to your Outlook Web Access (OWA) environment
- Select Options -> See all Options
- Select Phone -> Mobile Phones
Here you will see all your ActiveSync devices - Select your iOS device (iPhone or iPad)
- Select the delete button
- Press Yes on the question : “Are your sure you want to delete this mobile phone?”
After this your device will be able to synchronize again.
Also remember, if you manually disabled synchronizing on your iOS device to turn it back on.
For those interested, the new information for an iPhone 4S is :

If you have any further information or issues synchronizing after the update, please leave your message here.

tried this but still same error message..
After deleting the partnership relationship with your ActiveSync device, you can try 2 things. Go to the settings of your account on your device and retype your password, save it, start the sync process. If this still doesn’t solve the issue, try to remove the account from your device and re-add it.
