After you removed the last Exchange 2003 Server and you only have Exchange 2007 Exchange 2003 Servers, it’s time to upgrade the following from legacy to “native” Exchange 2007 :

Currently I’m removing our old Exchange 2003 Server. We migrated all our users to an Exchange 2007 Server. When looking in the mailbox store on the Exchange 2003 server, I noticed mailboxes of users which were migrated to Exchange 2007. Weird I thougt. During startup of Exchange the Microsoft Exchange Services do not start. This error can occur if a domain controller or GC (Global Catalog) is not available during startup or has a very slow link.

In my eventviewer I have multiple event id’s 1173 which seem to occur during normal working hours.
Event ID: 1173
Source: MsExchangeIS Mailbox Store
Error 0×6bb deleting unused restricted view from folder Folder_ID on database “Storage_Group_Name\Database_name”. Microsoft Exchange Information Store will try to delete the view again at the next maintenance interval.
Solution
This error can be ignored. To bad it can’t be disabled…

In my eventviewer I got a great amount of event ID errors 7010, MSEXchangeTransport. After reviewing the description I noticed all events came from the same IP-address. When looking up this IP, I found it to be a Unix/Linux host.

By default, the Security tab is missing in the Exchange System Manager. To display the permissions tab, you have to make a change to the registry.
Here is the correct path to navigate:
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Exchange\ExAdmin.
When you reach the above section of the registry you need to create a DWORD called ShowSecurityPage.
A value of 1 (Numeric one) means on, whilst 0 (Zero) means off.
Close the Exchange System Manger, then reopen (no need for a reboot).
