Newsid and Windows 2008 64 bits
When running newsid.exe on a Windows 2008 Server 64 Bits system, newsid hangs when updating system registry and the application stops responding.
To solve this issue start the following from a command prompt :
REG DELETE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Wow6432Node /f
Restart Newsid.exe and it will succesfully run.
This issue has been solved in Windows 2008 RC2 x64.
Does new sid work with Windows 2008 RC2 x64? I tried it on a hyper-v Windows 2008 RC2 x64 and it gave blue screen.Please advice.Thanks in advance.
I do not have that key Wow6432Node under Wow6432Node. But still newsid hangs when updating system registry and the application stops responding.
OS: Windows 2008 Standard x64 with out hyper -V
