Save password in Communicator client for OCS
When you install the communicator client on a workgroup machine or when Kerberos authentication is not working you probably would like to have the option to save the password in the MOC client.
This option is available if you add the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator
“SavePassword”=dword:00000001
When you start the MOC client there is a checkbox enabled to save the password. The password is saved in the following registry key :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Communicator\AccountPasswordÂ

This is just AWESOME! Thank you so much for posting this! One more question. Is it possible to have it save the password to connect to Exchange Web Services as well? Typically a user will get 3 logins in the workgroup scenario. Login to Communicator (which you just took care of) login to Outlook, then a 3rd login to Exchange Web Services from Communicator. Is there a reg setting to have this password saved as well?
Thanks again!
