What?? I have 2 harddisks in my computer. Nothing special…one master, second is slave. But…i want to install Microsoft Vista RC 1 (Release Candidate) on the second harddisk. So what’s the problem you think?
Well…Vista asks on which disk I want to install and so I select the second harddisk. And what happens? I get an error saying:
windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation
So…my first thought was, there is still a dynamic volume on the disk (which I also cannot delete with the installation). So first I boot with a killdisk diskette (yes…a diskette!) and then formatted and deleted everything on all disks. Then boot again, still the same problem. Hmm..tried creating partitions, booting etc etc etc. No cure…
The only cure… remove all the disks from the computer and leave only the disk on which you want to install the OS. Then boot and install Windows Vista. Strange problem though… hope they fix it when it comes out…
